This is what the prosperity gospel teaches in a nutshell, that if we come to Jesus we are “guaranteed” health/wealth/prosperity.
But, that’s not what the gospel is. The true gospel is that we come to Jesus to get Jesus.
If prosperity etc follows then it is only ever for the glory of God, only so that we can do God’s work.
I think this is why I always baulk when people attack Hillsong for the amount of ‘wealth’ that they have. They use that ‘wealth’ to do God’s work in His Kingdom and there is nothing wrong with that.
There is nothing inherently wrong with the existence of financially rich Christians. It’s what they do with that wealth that matters.
