Blogging

So, I haven’t written on this blog in so long.  Probably because I now have Tumblr.  And I’ve been Facebooking a whole lot more, as well.  A lot, and I mean a lot, has happened since I typed anything on this particular blog site, and I have to say it would take forever for me to list everything, but maybe I could start with the highlights?  So, here goes:

  1. Paul and I have been together for 19 months and our relationship is progressing, no matter what my parents think.
  2. Riverview is about to release their first worship album since ‘And Sing’.  A studio offering called “Beginnings” and I am super stoked to hear the heart for God in these songs
  3. I saw Simple Plan live in June of this year, and I met them.
  4. I’ve been at my job for almost fourteen months now and there have been a lot of staff changes and a lot of emotional upheaval.  Though it is exciting, watching the children growing and learning every day.
  5. I’ve turned 27.
  6. I had sinus surgery.
  7. I’ve made headway on my Cert III
  8. I’m considering early learning childhood education in the long term
  9. I went to my ten year school anniversary.
  10. And…I’ve endured the emotional rollercoaster which is the AFL season.
Speaking of which, I’m still stoked that Travis Cloke is staying a Magpie.  And I’m excited for 2013.
Anyway, I’m really not sure what else to write, so I’ll sign off for now.   I have to go feed my friend’s dog and cats as she’s away on a mini holiday.

>March…to October

>I apologise for the corniness and cryptic-ness of the title.  It’s an ‘in’ thing.  If you’re a Collingwood supporter, you would know what I mean.

Anyway, a lot has happened since the last time I blogged.  None least than I’ve found a guy who I just clicked with.  Yes, he’s my man and he’s almost everything I would want in a guy.  I say almost, because no one is ever perfect.

Anyway, in other news:

1.  Collingwood won the NABCup Grand Final.  Even though the NABCup could really just be considered practise matches, it was still an exciting series to watch.

2.  I saw Collingwood face West Coast, and that was exciting, seeing my team live for the first time ever…

3.  Seeing the guys at their training session was great as well, I got a photo with Dane Swan, and had my member cap signed by most of the players at the training session.  Cloke was busy practising his goal kicking so he only signed a couple of peoples’ things.  Great evening, though.

4.  I’m working on and off, while looking for more work.

5.  I’ve been pretty busy the past few weekends, particularly the weekend of the WA Labour Day, that was full on, but a great weekend.

6.  This coming Friday night, I’m going out to the movies with my man ;).

And that’s it for tonight.

Christmas Season – random thoughts

I love the Christmas season.  It’s a time to remember the year, but also the most important thing of all.  That God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to bring joy, peace, equality, freedom to everyone and, to overall everything else, save us from our sins.  Jesus is the reason for the season, and I’m not ashamed to preach that fact.

Like Haydn said in his message to the Worship team, we should not be ashamed to go public with the Good News.

I feel, especially this particular season, that it’s even more important for me to lean into God, and my faith.  No matter what is going on in the world I know that God is there for me, that he has sent His son for me.

Speaking of the world…actually, I’m not going to dwell on it.  The work situation is stable, for now.  Thank goodness.

The Christmas Production on the weekend, went off!  It was absolutely amazing.  God was definitely present.  I killed my voice, though.  But that’s more because I still have a cough.  I did look after my voice, best I could.  But, it’s still annoying me now.

Oh well, almost Christmas :D.

November Update

1.  My love for Collingwood has grown exponentially in the past few weeks.  I’ve already accumulated over 1,000 pics in my Pictures folder of the team in a little over a month.  I’m a 2011 card-carrying member and I’ve rekitted my mum with a beanie and scarf for the 2011 footy season.

2.  I have a work Christmas party today.

3.  I went to my first Cell/Connect Group on Wednesday.

4.  It’s becoming busier at STAWA while we get ready for the Future Science Conference and the end of year dinner.  I will have been working there [including the volunteer period] for a whole year on December 3rd.

5.  I’m trying to be a bit more social.

6.  I’ve started to think about Christmas.

7.  I’ve been listening to a lot of Pillar lately.

8.  I’ve started writing other things.

9.  It’s getting hot…or has been, hopefully it’ll be relatively cooler this week.

10.  I’m absolutely loving my work with the kids.

And that’s it for today, folks.

Week almost done…

  1. I bought a new laptop today.  I’m in the middle of configuring it and organising software on it.  It’s nice and shiny and new…
  2. We made spring rolls at work today.  The kids really enjoyed them.  There were a couple who didn’t eat many, but the majority really liked them.  We used puff pastry this time, but I think next time we should buy the spring roll pastry and tray that.
  3. I’ve started another Bible unit at TTC.  It’s all about Christianity and what The Bible says about it.  We’ve looked at some interesting topics [doctrines] already and the sub-topics within.  For example the Trinity and the whole issue of God being One but existing as Three Persons.
  4. This is just a random post because it’s been awhile since I last blogged.
  5. Live life to the fullest, live life for God.  Live.

Been awhile…

Work at STAWA has gotten a little quiet.  Part of me is a little bit over working there.  Don’t get me wrong, I like working at STAWA, I’m just in a personal funk.  I’ve just been feeling blah about a lot of things.  I think it’s partly because I’m not feeling motivated to do anything lately.  Work, writing, hanging out with friends…I just want to crawl into bed and sleep…and I’m not even tired or anything.  I’ve had a few off nights, but I’ve been sleeping well lately, so it’s not that.

I’m loving working at Kids Inn.  Maybe that’s it.  I need to rethink my position in the workforce.  Perhaps I should go fulltime into childcare?  I don’t know.  I really like working where I’m at right now.  The kids are great, even though some of them can be right little so-and-so’s sometimes.  But, I really, really enjoy working there, nonetheless.

Guess what?  I’m going to Soundwave next year.  And guess what else?  Avenged Sevenfold will be there.  Seeing them live will definitely make my life.  I have to say, seeing them live will most likely trump seeing Simple Plan.

The bittersweet thing, though, is that I won’t ever get to see Jimmy ‘The Rev’ play with them.  I’m sure Mike Portnoy will do the drummer justice, but I can’t help but feel gypped that I never got the chance to see A7X as the full band.

It will be an experience, though.  My first major music festival.  I never was ever interested in the Big Day Out, or Southbound or any of those others.  The bands didn’t really excite me.  I would like to see Eskimo Joe and The Living End, though.

I think I’ve used the word ‘though’ a lot in this blog… oh well.  My writing has improved since I first started back in…um…probably 2000 or even before then.  I started writing semi-serious fics back in 1999, even though [there I go again with that word…] it was kind of silly stories about my crush…and talking animals and stuff.  [Stuff is a good scientific term.  And ‘thing’ is as well…]  But, I can tell you I have definitely gotten better, and that’s not boasting.  I can see the improvement.

I have so many ideas floating around in my mind, but none of them I can really pin down.  My latest venture is exciting, though.

It’s called Shadows Creed, and is a fanfic [A7X], but the premise is so different, to me at least, that I reckon I could write it as an original.

The basic gist is this:  Bands are outlawed.  Politicians are using solo artists to garner popularity.  The law is upheld by The Creed.  The Creed is a force responsible for eliminating renegade musicians.  One man decides it’s time for a change.  Time to crush the oppression and bring rock and roll back into the world.  There is one problem.  This one man is The Creed’s most trusted.

So, there it is.  Of course, the story I’m writing now is based around the guys in Avenged, but I could so easily modify it to use my original characters.  But, I will probably endeavour to work on the idea later on in the year.

I also want to try and write an all Aussie based fic.  But, we’ll see.

Anyways, signing off, g’night all.
